Madcap's rendition of Speedy J's "Balk Acid" was originally produced for a Speedy J remix project. However, Richard and Felix were so pleased with the end result, they decided to also release it themselves. "This is not so much a remix as a cover version", says Felix. "We kept the melodic and rhythmic structure of the original composition and built our arrangement around that." The outcome is a curious synergy of brutal beats, sensitive synths and bluesy slide-guitar riffs. Highly original.
